Behind the Scenes – Summer 2023

Little Rock

There was some controversy amongst the team as A.B. waited for word at the Arkansas Capitol Building. Did Sarah Huckabee Sanders have an appointment that was running long? Was A.B. being disrespected? Is the fact that parking near the capitol grounds is only $.50 per hour (the finance team shouts “Hurray!”) the reason the state can only afford a projected image of the State Seal on the capitol floor?

A.B. can be patient for only so long. There are any number of other capitol buildings on his schedule for the summer. (Stay tuned!)

Ohio, wherever the capitol is located

Adventure Bear is not one to complain, but the working conditions on this trip so far have been somewhat daunting from a weather perspective. It has been difficult to dress accordingly. Below see pictured a small bear bundled up in his trailer and waiting for his photo shoot at the Ohio capitol building. It was wet and chilly, and neither A.B. nor his Agent had appropriate outerwear.

On the way to Cooperstown, NY

We stayed in an interesting airbnb on the way to the Baseball Hall of Fame. First of all, it appeared to have Holy Water stations in the stairwells – pretty unusual! (And while we know the Red Sox aren’t doing that well this year, A.B. doesn’t care for the implication.)

Adventure Bear respects all faith traditions, but did not investigate too closely.

Second (and delightfully) the host offered A.B. a choice of new trailers!

A.B.’s Agent has never brokered a deal like this. Perhaps Winson is taking on new clients??
Clearly this one will not be suitable.
Hmm…Looks a little narrow for even a svelte bear such as A.B..
A.B. was getting a very uncomfortable sensation from this one. Surely there is no such thing as a purse bear?! Who are these designers…
This one might have been a possibility, but in the end Adventure Bear chose to stay with the trailer he has enjoyed since it came off the clearance shelf in an artists’ gallery in Whitefish, MT. 1) He supports local artists. 2) He is on a budget (still). Endorsement offers welcomed!
This lovely town (Binghamton as A.B. recalls) had a nice restaurant. We all enjoyed a good meal, but A.B. particularly favored the dessert.

Cooperstown, NY

Baseball, one of the least offensive sports. Like everyone, Adventure Bear has his favorites :).

Boston Strong.

Ithaca and Seneca Falls, NY

Adventure Bear was appalled to learn how long after the convention it took for anyone to put up a sign acknowledging its importance. Never mind the actual issue of women’s rights….
Danger A. B.! Danger!
This is A.B.’s favorite sign to see on a hike!
