Summer of 2019 – Part 3

Grand Junction to Austin!

And then we were home. We love to go, but coming home is really wonderful, too. We hope you have enjoyed the travels with Adventure Bear. Now he gets to tell his friends all about it.

On our way home we camped again in Durango, right next to Lightner Creek. It was about 20 degrees warmer than it was in May.

Adventure Bear does not participate in either the cooking or dish duties – it’s in his Contract.

The next day we stopped for lunch in Santa Fe, but didn’t have time to do much else.

On the plains of West Texas, the tallest structures are the grain elevators and silos, with blue skies welcoming Adventure Bear on a break along the flat, straight Highway 84.

We are making our way back home, with pictures from Carrie’s parents’ house in Grand Junction, CO, and from the drive back to Durango.

This picture has become an annual tradition, with Adventure Bear and Holiday Bear spending quality time together.

A.B. appreciates spending time with a fellow professional.

This picture of Carrie was approved for this post, a rarity on this trip.

This hummingbird has nested on Carrie’s parents’ porch the last couple of years. She is very protective of her little ones, and getting a picture of her on the nest was not an easy task. This is her second nest for 2019; her first set of twins has already hatched.

We had lunch in Silverton, but Adventure Bear did not ride the rails to Durango.

The mountain views were worth the white-knuckle drive from Grand Junction to Durango.
